So, we may not want another Terminator movie, but bring Terminator 2D: No Fate game in September 2025

By Todd Russell Jul 8, 2025

Here at PGM we’re probably done with Terminator sequels, just like the principle original actors, see Good, Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzeneggar are Done with Terminator Movies, but James Cameron Isn’t but we’ll never be done with good Terminator universe games. Emphasis on good.

In September 2025, brace yourself, Skynet for Terminator 2D: No Fate.

“Described as a “a love letter to ‘80s/‘90s arcade games,” Terminator 2D: No Fate is a side-scrolling action game that retells the events of the classic ’90s blockbuster action movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The game features arcade-style missions that allow you to play as Sarah Connor, John Connor, and the T-800.” – Arcade Action Side-Scroller TERMINATOR 2D: NO FATE Retells And Expands Upon Blockbuster Movie

This “new” game sounds a bit like a modern Robocop arcade game, that we score chased in Season 3, btw: Happy Valentine’s Day 2025 + Season 3 Week 24: Robocop – How to Join Us, Play, Beat Your Personal Best. I hope it’s plenty bloody, like NARC, perhaps with a little humor a la Smash TV.

Moreso, hope it’s not priced like current AAA games (spoiler: looking at the preorder page, it mostly is). I like that it’s happily pronouncing itself 2D.

Terminator 2D: No Fate is coming in both digital and three different physical editions on September 5, 2025 to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. I don’t see a Steam listing yet to wishlist as of this writing, but maybe by publication, since this article was written in March 2025, it’s possible the project is far enough alone to add that.
