Lethal Company horror game launched October 2023 has 71,000+ Overwhelmingly Positive Steam Reviews

By Todd Russell Nov26,2023

Lethal Company (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1966720/Lethal_Company/) launched i late October, 2023 in early access for $9.99 on Steam/PC that self-describes as:

A co-op horror about scavenging at abandoned moons to sell scrap to the Company.

It’s literally impossible for one person to stay on top of every new game, but this one launched in late October 2023 already has amassed an impressive amount of overwhelmingly positive Steam reviews and is high up the Steam US sales charts (https://store.steampowered.com/charts/topselling/US).

Interesting that only the Steam Deck, with the new release of the Steam Deck OLED (related, see: Steam Deck OLED Shipping November 16, 2023 starting at $549) is outselling Lethal Company in the United States as of
The folllowing VG247 article (This $10 Steam game is going massively viral, and it’s easy to see why) states:

Best played with a group of friends, you’ll be able to visit new, more treacherous moons as you all progress. You can scan creatures to add to your bestiary, top up on equipment at your spaceship (which you can decorate) and, of course, experience the horrors that the darkness is hiding away. It’s important to communicate with your comrades – who can stay aboard the ship helping you avoid traps or come along for the scrap haul – and if you aren’t quick enough, it’s important to be prepared for what abominations you may come face to face with. If you’re looking for a cheap way to burn through a few hours of laughing (and screaming) with your friends, then Lethal Company is a must-play.

Being a huge horror fan and enjoying multiplayer co-op games plus the price really hits a sweet spot. I’m not sure about the exploring aspect, as that sounds like a lot of newer games that I haven’t been too excited playing, but like the setting of an alternate planet with horror.

It sorts of makes me think of movies like Alien. This one is giving me Starfield-like planetary search vibes. Lethal Company comes from solo developer Zeekerss, that once worked on Roblox.

Are you interested in Lethal Company? As of this writing, I didn’t see any of my Steam friends having it wishlisted or owning yet, but a recheck just prior to publishing and two PGM members have wishlisted.
