Season 2, Week 10 of Score Chasing begins Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 12:00:01 PST (GMT-8) featuring Bubble Bobble, the arcade version. This article will tell you everything you need to know about how to join our group and play.
PLEASE NOTE: this score chasing event is for adults, age 18 and older, so if you aren’t yet 18, then please return when you are.
First, let’s learn more about Bubble Bobble (Arcade). How is the game played, via Arcade-Museum:
You play two dinosaurs, Bub and Bob. You try to complete all 100 levels and rescue your girlfriends by trapping monsters in bubbles and bursting them. Heaps of power-ups and hidden features.
At the top of this post, you’ll see a Bubble Bobble event promo image with a QR Code created by PGM member, Gamer_Nix. This will take you directly to the official PGM iScored Score Chasing Scoreboard at the spot where you will enter your score on Bubble Bobble (Arcade). Where can you play? Here are a few suggestions (alphabetical order) but is not a complete list by any means:
- Antstream Arcade is a cloud based streaming game service that has over 1,400 licensed games, including Bubble Bobble arcade version (direct link to game in browser). Note: a monthly or yearly subscription to this service is required, pricing varies. Our PGM group also plays/sends Antstream challenges to other members on various games on this service. If you are a subscriber add us (I’m todd_russell on there, level 100+)
- Arcade – yes, check your local area for barcaes, arcades, mallcades, etc. You might have an Asteroids Deluxe arcade machine nearby and play might still be a quarter!
- Atgames Legends Home Arcade Machines: Atgames Legends Ultimate comes with a licensed version of Bubble Bobble (see ALU full games list)
- Nintendo Switch – arcade archives vesion of Bubble Bobble ($7.99, price varies, store link)
- PlayStation (PS5,4,3,2,1) arcade archives Bubble Bobble – store link
- Steam / Steam Deck / PC – Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop contains a version of the arcade, but warning, has negative reviews citing controller issues ($39.99, prices vary, store link)
- Various Emulated / MAME / CoinOpsX / etc – emulated versions of Asteroids Deluxe (Arcade) are allowed, but we do not typically link to these sources
Now that you have located where to play Bubble Bobble, simply start playing to establish your personal best score. The goal of score chasing is not a typical leaderboard high score, be the top score tournament. We simply want you to play and beat your personal best.
