This week’s featured game is Jungle Hunt, a game that originally was called Jungle King.
Season 3, Week 28 of Score Chasing begins Saturday March 15, 2025 at 12:00:01 PST (GMT-8) featuring Jungle Hunt, the arcade version. This article will tell you everything you need to know about how to join our group and play.

First, let’s learn more about Jungle Hunt (arcade). How is the game played via Jungle King / Jungle Hunt | ilovethe80s.com
Jungle King was a left to right scrolling game released by Taito in 1982. In later years, the name of the game was changed to Jungle Hunt. The early versions featured a loin-cloth clad Tarzan character, while later versions featured an explorer wearing khakis. The change was due to a lawsuit filed against Taito stating that the character’s likeness to Tarzan was a copyright infringement. The ultimate goal of Jungle King was for the character to rescue his girlfriend from cannibals.

- Arcade – yes, check your local area for barcades, arcades, mallcades, etc. You might have an arcade machine nearby and play might still be a quarter!
- Various Emulated / MAME / CoinOpsX / etc – emulated versions are allowed, but we do not typically link to these sources.
- Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch – search the stores for consoles for “arcade archives” as sometimes there are licensed versions of the games we feature available.
Now that you have located where to play, simply start playing to establish your personal best score. The goal of score chasing is not a typical leaderboard high score, be the top score tournament. We simply want you to play and beat your personal best.
