Before getting to this week’s new games, it’s important to announce another day being celebrated. Surely, a game most (?) of you have played.
November 19 is the official Play Monopoly Day (https://nationaltoday.com/national-play-monopoly-day/)
Initially, when Parker Brothers released the game, it had only two versions; regular and deluxe. In 1991, when Hasbro overtook Parker Brothers, they developed many new versions of the game. In 2003, Hasbro organized a championship tournament of Monopoly on a chartered train going from Chicago to Atlantic City. Within a few years, Monopoly became a favorite among millions of people around the world, and it became their favorite pastime during get-togethers and long trips by train. In the U.S., National Play Monopoly Day was created as a dedication to this board game which brings joy to many families and friends.
It’s also that time of the week to check for noteworthy game releases for PC/Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch via Metacritic.

Summary
A new Flight Simulator game from Microsoft is pretty big news and the Chernobyl game looks somewhat interesting. We might play Monopoly — the board game, of course — during Thanksgiving this year. Looking forward to holiday season 2024, not that we’ll be buying much of anything new, perhaps I’ll spring for some more games on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but that’s another week away.
