If not for the $40 price, this would be an instant buy and check out for me. I’m feeling much warmer to $20, but do like the cross platform play and online options. Early reviews from preorder week of playing is that there are balancing issues as well, which puts me off a bit. Might be that they need to work on this more with a larger group of players and then would be a better buying opportunity at the Summer 2024 sale, perhaps. Or maybe I give it a try as is.

The Smurfs: Village Party

Wish this wasn’t a party game, but still am kind of interested in it, based on prior Smurfs games, some of which have been good.

SUMMARY

A pretty decent week, at least title-wise, with some promising releases, including an expansion to MMORPG Elder Scrolls. I played that game mostly on consoles, but I bet it’s fun on the PC. It’s not quite a top tier MMO to me, but it’s pretty good. I’d put it in my top 10 easily, however, so good to see they keep releasing expansions for it.

The one title I’m most interested in, however, is Killer Klowns From Outer Space, but the price, argh. It’s not $60, unless you threw down for the preorder, but $40 still seems high for this licensed title. Also, it’s only “mostly positive” with Steam reviews as of this writing with some complaints about balancing issues. That’s not what I want to hear from people playing it at this price. They will probably get the balancing in check by summer time, when the big sales happen. Still, I might give this one a try this week. Going back and forth on it.

Add to this, a more friendly priced Star Wars Nintendo Switch game, a Destiny 2 expansion and a new Smurfs Party game. Actually, looking more forward to playing Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of Green Stone (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2397500/The_Smurfs_2__The_Prisoner_of_the_Green_Stone/), due to enjoying playing the first Smurf game from publisher Microids.
