LIVE EVENT Tonight starting at/around 8pm PST the PGM Twitch Stream 3rd birthday celebration starts with 17+ hours of pinball

By playgamesmore.com Apr 18, 2025

For months now we’ve been promoting the third birthday for the Twitch stream and tonight, Friday 4/18/2025, is the night the party begins at/around 8pm PST (GMT-8) at: https://www.twitch.tv/playgamesmoredotcom

The plan is to play 100+ games — all standing up — for 17+ hours of pinball. Iron Maiden (Stern 2018) premium, the game I bought on my birthday last year (My Best Birthday Present in 56 Years: Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast Premium NIB) will be the main focus, as this is the only game of the three we own that I haven’t scored 1+ billion playing. If/when I score a billion on Iron Maiden, I might move to playing one of the other two games or if I just get a wild hair to change games, but the plan is to play only Iron Maiden for the duration of the event.

In order to play 100+ games in a single play session, I’ve done the math and that’s an average of 5.8 games per hour, or about one new game every 10 minutes for 17 hours. If I get a really good game going, I’ll play longer than 10 minutes. Certainly, if it’s a billion point game, but I think the vast majority of my games played are less than 10 minutes on this game. Some games it feels like I’m over and done in 5 minutes, but maybe that’s just perception, I may run a timer on game play length as well as overall stream length and have that displayed to the viewers as well.

I’ve never played 100 games of pinball in a single session and am not certain if this will be possible for me to play in one session. There will be both a timer and counter showing on the stream how many games have been played and it’s entirely possible I will fail attaining this goal. Would put my odds at 50/50 on this one. I get tired on Humpday Wednesdays after streaming pinball for 6 hours and this will be nearly three times an average pinball stream. I almost always play standing up, so I’ve done 6 hours standing while playing, have even done longer a few times, closer to 8+ hours I think is my longest, so in reality this will be something like twice as long as any other time streaming pinball to date.

Iron Maiden is one of my favorite bands and a pinball I have a lot of adoration and enjoyment playing, so this is good a game as any to make this attempt. Our longest stream in three years was just over 16 hours, so if we do make it 17+ hours, this will be a stream record. This may, in fact, be a one and done event, so hopefully you’ll stop by, especially in the wee hours of the morning when the audience will most certainly be lighter and I’ll be unsure if I can stay up. I rarely stay up all night doing anything in this era of my life any longer, but thinking the best way to do this is to start at/around 8pm PST and that makes 17 hours be around 1pm the next day on Saturday which is a good time to be passing that finish line.

The bigger question is the 100 games. That’s a lot of pinball games. To date, including ownership, I haven’t even played 300 games to date:

This is less than 1/3rd of the games of Jaws I’ve played and 100 or so games less than the game I’ve been playing most recently: James Bond 007 (the only other game owned). As far as non-owned games, I’ve played a little more games of Godzilla, Stern’s current modern best game. My favorite game of all time right now is Jaws, I really love playing that game, but Iron Maiden will always have a special place in my heart. It’s the perfect game to play during our third birthday party celebration. As far as the premium, my best score as shown above and below is 659, 530, 500. I would hope over 100 games I’d be able to break this score at least once, hopefully multiple times and breaching that 1 billion mark.

There will be some additional stream activities happening that viewers can participate in like a Pinball FX one day tournament that will be started before the stream starts. There won’t be a password or anything, it will be open to all and there won’t be a limit on number of attempts, but each game will be limited to the best score you can achieve in three minutes in a full game.

For fun, keep track of how many games of Fish Tales Pinball FX you play during the day. Would be curious if anybody else playing can play that game 100+ times in one day. Stop by and tell me during the live stream and leave in the comments here how you did and, if you keep track, how many games you played. Does it keep track of number of attempts? If it does, that would be interesting to see how many games were played.

During the 17+ hour stream, as we have been doing most streams, viewers can fish using Lurkbait fishing (see: Lurkbait Twitch Fishing + New This Week Game Releases (NTWIG) 10/14 – 10/20/2024). Viewers can fish for free every 30 minutes using the command !fish and use Twitch channel points earned while the stream is running actively viewing, Twitch bits and subscriptions to fish even more frequently. You do need to follow the channel to chat, but it is free to follow. Those that catch the Evil Fishmonger Todd fish, which is very rare will win a spin on the Steam gift card wheel. That fish looks like what is pictured below, and any time it’s caught a loud horn blows for an extended period of time.

Good luck to all in catching this rare, legendary fish during the stream. There is a setting where catching rare fish will be increased. I’ll be removing all $5 Steam gift cards from the wheel as a special bonus for any catches of this fish during this stream, meaning the minimum gift card that can be won will be $10 Steam gift cards (digital), going all the way up to $100 USD with a 2x multiplier.

We have some additional stuff planned as things to keep things moving along, lively and interesting, but will save those for the event and to be a bit of a surprise for those viewing. I think the biggest thing is your help in chat engaging and chatting with me. I will be sitting down from time to time in between games, so this isn’t a situation where not ever going to sit down. Twitch has safety guidelines for streamers to follow and we’ll be following. However, I will be playing every pinball game standing up.

Hope to see all reading that can attend this very special event. Never say never, but if this 17+ hour playing pinball standing up attempt is successful, and even if it’s not, I don’t know that we’ll be doing this again any time soon, if ever again. I realize it’s also Easter weekend but the likelihood this event rolls into Easter is extremely unlikely. Thank you for reading and, if you attend and participate, thank you for that as well.
