October 2023 is going to be quite a month for new game releases. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is coming out the same day as Spider-Man 2, October 20, 2023. Our grandson’s favorite is Spider-man, followed closely by Spider-Man, so will likely be buying both of these at/near launch. He’s played through Miles Morales — and really enjoyed it — and the other Spider-Man game on PS4/PS5. This Spidey sequel looks amazing, but then so many of the PlayStation 5 games look great. The visuals of Spider-Man 2 are impressive. The character models are more expressive when delivering their lines, resulting in more believable performances from the actors that will in turn do a better job of pulling at your heartstrings. The ray-traced reflections add more depth and realism to the world. Breakable environmental additions make it feel like you’ve succeeded in unleashing havoc in an arena after a devastating combo.
Spider-Man 2 also has fall damage, but this can be toggled off (source).
