It’s Humpday Wednesday and, sorry, there will not be a Twitch stream today. We should be back next Wednesday.

Have a new person we’re training this week at work and a meeting about company restructuring to attend that was scheduled yesterday for today. We’ll also put off talking about what’s been happening in pinball the last week, kicking off a new FX pinball tourney and, instead, talk about something else gaming-related that’s happening this next week.

If you guessed fishing, bingo!

Steam is on top of this day: https://store.steampowered.com/category/fishing

Outdoors, there are so many different sports and games that can be played these days. June 18 is the day to fish and dare we suggest saving recreational real fishing and play virtual fishing instead? Or do both, if you like. Fishing as an activity dates far back in history.

During prehistoric times, fishing was not a recreational activity but a food source for people. Thus, it became a commercial activity during antiquity, as evidenced by the discovery of fish fossils dating back 500,000 years ago. These fossils suggest that the Homo habilis and Homo erectus were the first fishermen, usually catching fish by hand. Similarly, traditions and myths dating back thousands of years also indicate fishing was a celebrated activity.

Fishing for something different? How about which pinball machine to play?

Couldn’t resist inserting a little pinball into the picture above 😉 Jaws pinball doesn’t seem to mind.
