Through the Looking Glass of Humpday Wednesday Pinball 2/19/2025

It’s that midweek get over the hump and chat all things pinball. What have you heard the last week?

Yesterday, I was asked about a Kickstarter $1,000 real pinball machine called Alice Goes To Wonderland (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wonderlandamusements/wonderland-pinball)

A home pin that’s not quite full size for $1,000 might sound intriguing, but real pinball of the type of desirable quality to take a beating with a steel ball isn’t something that can be done (very well) on the cheap. My thoughts are: how well will this hold up? Wouldn’t buying an established used pinball machine — an EM most likely, maybe an early SS) be a better use of $1,000 or so? I’m slightly interested in playing this, but 0% interest in buying and less than zero in being part of the Kickstarter. What say you, in the comments?

And just for the record, I would like to see some pinball machines released in the under $5,000 range. Read my thoughts if you haven’t already on OPINION: The Future of These Stern Home Pinball Machines at Costco for $4,999? I do think a pin buyer’s market exists sub $5,000 new, but probably is going to be in the $2-4k range to provide the necessary quality and construction.

And if you’re looking for a durable full size pin based on an Alice theme, maybe what Dutch Pinball (https://www.dutchpinball.com/alices_adventures_in_wonderland) is cooking up would be of interest?

These guys at Dutch already made The Big Lebowski, so we know what to expect. It’s a good-looking game and I’m very interested in flipping.

Want to make your own faux Stern Insider Connected badge?

Generate your own Stern Insider Connected Badge: https://lastgameofthenight.com/insider-achievement-maker?fbclid=IwY2xjawISu8tleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHXJ5gFP0YEj2J57WRRxqlxYP55baxeZCZ-KKCXobYATnDBD7Y4ivkKzRYg_aem_cXkoJkfjLYHQ5ItXEMg-Aw – it’s too bad Stern doesn’t let us create our own badges for our games. That would be cool to be able to make a badge with an achievement that people could play on our owned games.

25 Zaccaria Pins to score chase … and counting

Skullbox686 is a little past three weeks with picking daily Zac pins to score chase. Here are the 25 games he’s chosen for us to play so far, as of Tuesday 2/18 All have been Retro. There are 40 retro category games and then Skull will need to start doing repeats or try one of the other categories.:

I should be on an admin today, but will probably stream on Twitch a bit today, perhaps catching up on these games not played yet, but there is a dungeon calling to me later ..

Stern still doing the D&D thing

Not much new to report on/from Stern Pinball, except they are building and shipping The Dragon in the room that is Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant’s Eye from Stern Pinball. There are D&D games that have gotten closer to us, including one, I just learned, that is less than 4 miles away.

Remember, you can filter by machine on the Stern Insider Connected locations page here: https://insider.sternpinball.com/ic/locations and see how close any IC game is to you.

It’s a D&D pro machine, and it’s calling to me. Hoping I can sneak up there to the Flip Off Arcade today to check it out at some point. Supposed to be an admin day for me, but D&D sounds like a better idea when the arcade opens at …

Keep your eyes peeled for detailed first thoughts flipping on location soon. Am really excited to play this one!
