Wagering on Golden Tee video golf games is a thing in states where it’s legal, so not completely surprising that Dave & Busters wants to bring in betting on arcade games to its stores.
But it is somewhat unsettling, since young children are typically the D&B target audience, aren’t they? The betting won’t be legal for them, of course, but from the sound of what follows this change will be for adults only.
At Dave & Buster’s, the betting will happen within its app-based loyalty program, where, in addition to offers for all-you-can-eat wings and half-price mozzarella sticks, it will join a relatively new and extraordinarily convoluted “rewards sportsbook,” which currently allows patrons to place bets on pro sports by converting tickets they win in the arcade into a series of tokens that can eventually be cashed out for more tickets. The chain is expected to roll out all of this in the coming months, and it will be available only to adults—with apologies, one presumes, to third-grade partygoers, who will have to wait until the age of majority to shake down their friends for a few bucks.

Those game cards becoming casino loyalty cards?
I can see both sides here. Personally, I’m in favor of gambling on skill-based games. Let’s go head to head for $$$ on classic arcade games, not only Golden Tee. Need to ask our PGM group that own Golden Tees how into this they are? Do they play against others for money regularly? Or want to get good enough to do so?
The Dave & Busters rewards club (see official rules here: https://www.daveandbusters.com/us/en/official-rules) has multiple levels and benefits.
Do you have a Dave & Busters rewards account? Do you have D&B in your area? We have one fairly close by here, but don’t go very often.
Last time we were there, they didn’t have any pinball, but have seen others mention some D&B do have them.
