Don’t forget to visit Alienware Arena for closed beta key access, earn Dell Rewards and more

There are some categories here at PGM like Alienware (https://playgamesmore.com/category/alienware/) that haven’t had a lot of activity, the deserve more attention.

Something I’ve not been good at is visiting the Alienware Arena website (https://alienwarearena.com/) every day or even writing about the many things those that visit there can do. Let’s right that ship a bit in this article, and absolutely certain some good gaming-oriented stuff will be missed, so please help out in the comments with anything you do at/through Alienware Arena.

You do not need to own an Alienware computer to visit and use this website. Sure, it makes sense that it’s fan-oriented, too, but it’s not a requirement. With the name, which to me aliens are just cool, you make your own alien. Here’s what mine looks like:

As of this writing, there are five different planetary tiers, with the Interstellar (18,000 ARP) being the top tier and unlocking access to Tier 5 giveaways and creating a custom tile:

As shown, I’m at Tier 2, and that wasn’t very difficult to reach, so guessing Tier 5 with daily effort is possible within a year or two.

The Quests page (https://na.alienwarearena.com/quests) is a good place to find some things to do to earn ARP:

One quest involves playing games from you Steam library to earn 15 ARP. Make sure you follow the instructions and sync your account to Steam and then choose a game you’re currently playing, launch the game and an hour later you’ll earn some points doing something you’re already doing anyway.

After completing various quests and other activities, you’ll earn ARP:

Accumulate enough ARP and you can then redeem in the Alienware Arena store for Dell Rewards (https://na.alienwarearena.com/marketplace/?type=dellReward). At this writing 1,700 ARP will earn $30.00 in Dell rewards.

Arena Arcade (Beta)

Alienware Arena have several games that can be played in the browser:

For my #GameADayChallenge on 4/26 I played the runner one called Kong Climb.

You are an ape climbing a building and press the screen to jump to the safe side avoiding objects. A simplistic game, but progressively difficult. I could see someone creating an AI generated game like this in an hour or less.

They have an Asteroids clone (https://www.alienwarearena.com/game/ArcadeShootTheAsteroids), where your ship does not float, it just stops dead and the enemy and your firepower doesn’t travel the whole distance of the screen. These changes make this game dramatically easier than the Atari arcade game it’s based on.

My Personal Alienware Journey

As some readers know, I bought two high end Alienware gaming computers a couple years ago: the R15 desktop with a 40-series card (1350 watts!) and the M16R1 laptop with 4090. Both computers have been easily the best computers I’ve ever bought for gaming and streaming, but yeah, they were also by far the two most expensive. I use the laptop much more frequently than the desktop, but am very happy with both purchases.

My goal was for these machines to last 7-10 years, and here we are 2+ years later and they’re still going very strong. The 50-series cards are on the scene now, but the 40-series is still plenty enough powerful for any games being released in 2025. I suspect we’ll begin to see games in the 60- and 70-series that actually, powerfully use the tech. It won’t be until 2027 or 2028+ we see the 60-series and after 2030 for the 70-series, unless Nvidia really ramps up their next release schedule. I’ll be back in the market by then, if not sooner, to build my dream PC in a Star Trek Borg cube!
