Do we need yet another portable gaming device that runs emulators? Maybe, maybe not. But this one has crypto aspirations and comes from Ord.io (https://www.ord.io/?contentType=game)
And then yes, indeed, the BitBoy One can run emulators to play digital copies of classic games. It’s said to be powerful enough to run games from the original Sony PlayStation and older game consoles.

This vaporware (as of this writing) portable gaming device is rumored to cost $500 at launch, whenever that will be.
This design reminds me of Microsoft’s ill-fated Zune music player. For those that don’t remember, that one duked it out (poorly) against the iPod. I was a contract worker in the podcast division for the Zune team, just for full disclosure, and liked the device, but it had virtually no chance against Apple.
As for this crypto portable device? Um, if — and that’s a big IF — it ever happens, am giving this even less chance than the Zune.
No interest, and wow $500! There are much better emulation hardware alternatives that are proven which are much cheaper. They should not pursue this.
